Now you can mount a telescope with the standard astro 1.75" width dovetail bar on any camera tripod or ball-head with a 1/4" UNC photo thread.
This is great for travel, widefield stargazing with a photo or video tripod, or even using your telescope as a daytime spotting scope* or for solar viewing.
The Starwave Losmandy-format clamp is strong yet light, being spring loaded with 2x steel alignment pins. The CNC machined e-coated knobs feature Teflon washers to stop binding.
Simply attach the Starwave Vixen to Losmandy Adapter to your camera tripod using the 1/4" UNC threaded hole on the underside of the clamp.
This is much stronger than most quick-release systems used on camera tripods.
