The SCT Converter let's you attach your Hypercam (which has a female T2-Thread in the front) to various to your Celestron or Meade Schmidt Cassegrain telescope commonly referred to as "SCT" thread.
The adaptor has an SCT Female Thread on one side, and a T2 / T-Thread Male thread on the other side.
Schmidt Cassegrain Reducers, OAGs and some filter wheels also have the SCT thread so this is a handy accessory for any Celestron owner.
The converter increases the optical path length by 1.0mm, which is quite a minor amount and within the tolerance of most flatteners and reducers.
A special "Easy Grip" scalloped outer ring makes the ring easier to tighten or loosen to reduce sag between your camera and telescope.
The Easy Grip feature makes it easy to attach and detach without getting the adapter "stuck" and it acts as a flange upon which to align the components accurately, without flex.
Tip: A VERY small amount of WD40 or soft wax on the threads will make the product easier to remove after extended use.
